It is derived from an Australian tree known as Melaleuca alternifolia, and it has been used for centuries due to its antibacterial properties. It also acts as an antiseptic, antiviral and antifungal agent.
Here is how to use this oil:
1. Clean the dishes
Before you add soap in the dishwasher machine, put 1 or 2 drops of tea tree oil to disinfect your dishes.
2. All-purpose cleaner
Mix two tablespoons of vinegar, three drops of tea tree oil and one tablespoon of borax. Pour the mixture into a (12-ounce) spray bottle and add a little bit of water. Use it as an all-purpose cleaner.
3. Natural deodorant
Mix ½ cup of cornstarch, 1/3 cup of baking soda, 15 drops of tea tree oil and 5 tablespoons of coconut oil. Mix the ingredients and store the mixture in an airtight container.
4. Destroy the germs on your clothes
Add few drops of tea tree oil to your laundry. This will disinfect your clothes and leave a fresh and pleasant scent behind.
To get rid of ants, pour several drops of tea tree oil in the place where they enter your house. This will keep them at bay. This oil can also help you to deter cockroaches. Add few drops to some water and wipe down your cupboards.
6. Removes foot odor
Mix ¼ cup of baking soda, ¼ cup of cornstarch and add ten drops of tea tree oil. This natural foot powder will remove the unpleasant foot odor.
